Our goal is to provide fair and dignified legal representation with an affordable pricing structure by using our collective decades of experience to maximize efficiency. People are struggling under heavy debt loads which are impairing and frustrating their ability to make financial progress. Our aim is to help them.We can provide alternatives to bankruptcy and can work with clients to resolve difficult financial troubles with the object of significantly improving their overall financial condition within two to three years. There are no quick fixes to debt problems. Beware of debt settlement companies which promise the world but rarely if ever deliver. In the short term, usually only in a matter of weeks – we can relieve the stress which inevitably accompanies financial crisis.

In the long term, we truly can help you turn things around. We know how it works. We know how much anxiety unpaid bills can create. The phone calls at all hours, the threatening letters, the demands for money you struggle to keep up with, all of these combine to create an extremely tense situation.

While KPWS Law P.C. is a fairly new law firm, the attorneys who formed it have practiced for many years. All presently work with or are associated with the law firm of Kelley and Polishan, LLC. Kelley and Polishan, LLC do not limit their work to debtor and creditor matters, but practice in many areas of the law, including personal injury, criminal defense, civil rights, commercial litigation, real estate transactions, real estate tax assessment appeals, and divorce. We represent numerous major local businesses ranging from the very large to the very small. The impetus for the formation of KPWS Law, P.C. has been our belief that many people have far too much unsecured debt which they can never pay back. We have had great success in relieving people of financial hardship and believe that there are many more in our region who could benefit from our services.

FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES

Congress enacted the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act after finding abundant evidence of the use of abusive, deceptive, and unfair debt collection practices by many debt collectors.
Congress found that abusive debt collection practices contribute to the number of personal bankruptcies, to marital instability, to the loss of jobs, and to invasions of individual privacy.
Existing laws and procedures for redressing these injuries are inadequate to protect consumers and that means other than misrepresentation or other abusive debt collection practices are available for the effective collection of debts.
Abusive debt collection practices are carried on to a substantial extent in interstate commerce and through means and instrumentalities of such commerce. Even where abusive debt collection practices are purely intrastate in character, they nevertheless directly affect interstate commerce.
It is the purpose of the FDCPA to eliminate abusive debt collection practices by debt collectors, to insure that those debt collectors who refrain from using abusive debt collection practices are not  competitively disadvantaged, and to promote consistent State action to protect consumers against debt collection abuses.
